Learn the Secrets of Hypnosis

Hypnosis is a field of personal development about which there are undoubtedly the most misconceptions. These stem primarily from hypnotists from fairs and the entertainment industry. Before learning to master hypnosis techniques, begin by letting go of any prejudices against genuine hypnosis.

Firstly, hypnosis has nothing to do with sleep, even though the term comes from the Greek word “hypnos”, the god of… sleep, which explains the first misconception about this field of personal development.

Getting rid of prejudices about hypnosis

Indeed, even if a hypnotized person appears to be sleeping, that isn’t the case. That person may have their eyes closed, but they are still conscious. The hypnotized person must be conscious, if only so that they can actually obey the hypnotist’s orders, whether they’re on stage or in a therapist’s office! Learning hypnosis techniques is relatively simple and does not require special abilities. Other than mastering hypnosis techniques, you need to find someone who is willing to be hypnotized. Indeed, contrary to the stereotype, it is impossible to hypnotize someone against their will or make them do things they don’t want to do. To make it easier for you to master hypnosis, you will first of all learn self-hypnosis techniques to apply on yourself. Once you master that, it will be easier for you to use them by practicing on a volunteer.

Discover the best conditions for a session of hypnosis

After relaxation and the choice of the right person for your sessions, suggestion is the third key to a good session of hypnosis. A suggestion is a sentence that you will pronounce right at the point when you are most relaxed during the session of hypnosis and most likely to implant it deep in your mind. Pronouncing the suggestion is the key and the most important moment in your session. That’s when you can implant suggestions in your brain corresponding to problems that you wish to resolve or to dreams that you wish to achieve. Positive suggestions express your current wishes like: “I want to be rich.”, “I want to experience love.”, “I want to achieve this dream or solve that problem (name them)”,…

Mastering the different stages in a session of hypnosis

To completely master a session of hypnosis, you must go through a certain number of stages, four to be precise. We recommend that you learn them one after the other. When you’ve mastered the first, move on to the second and so on.

First stage: mastering deep breathing

The first stage in a good session of self-hypnosis, or hypnosis, is mastering deep breathing, which you can find out about below. Controlling your breathing will enable you to relax, which will facilitate your session of self-hypnosis, including implanting the suggestion in your mind.

To master deep breathing, do the following:

  • Get yourself into a comfortable position, lying down or preferably sitting down, since if you lie down, you run the risk of falling asleep. You would of course experience restful sleep, but that is not the point of this session.
  • Close your eyes and concentrate on your breathing.
  • Simply follow the rhythm of your breathing. Don’t force it.
  • Let it grow deeper naturally for 5 to 10 minutes. You can then increase this amount of time if you want to.

Once you feel very relaxed, you’ll have completed the first stage in a session of hypnosis. Practice this deep breathing technique at least five times before moving onto the second stage.

Second stage: mastering body relaxation

The second stage in a good session of self-hypnosis, or hypnosis, involves relaxing your body and clearing your mind. You’ll achieve both these objectives with the following technique.

  • Sit down somewhere isolated where you won’t be bothered for around fifteen minutes.
  • Close your eyes and perform five to ten cycles of deep breathing, as described above in the first stage of the hypnosis process.
  • Once you’re extremely relaxed, relax your body from your feet up to your head, in the following way.
  • Begin by inhaling, and upon exhaling, relax the relevant part of your body. For instance, when you exhale, declare: “I’m exhaling and relaxing my feet.” Proceed in the same way, from your feet to your head, as follows.
  • “I’m exhaling and relaxing my legs.”
  • “I’m exhaling and relaxing my pelvis.”
  • “I’m exhaling and relaxing my back.”
  • “I’m exhaling and relaxing my hands.”
  • “I’m exhaling and relaxing my arms.”
  • “I’m exhaling and relaxing my stomach.”
  • “I’m exhaling and relaxing my face.”

At the end of this second stage, your body should be extremely relaxed and your mind should be clear, which is essential for a successful session of self-hypnosis.

Third stage: implanting your suggestions

This stage should be carefully prepared because this is the most crucial stage in your session of hypnosis. After the two preparation stages above, you are in the perfect state to deeply implant the suggestion of the day within you. To choose your suggestion, draw up a list of priorities regarding problems you wish to resolve or desires you wish to achieve. When you are in a hypnotically relaxed state following the first two stages, you should have raised your awareness levels enough to be able to clearly determine your priorities. So, now draw up a list of five to ten desires or problems that are on your personal list and place them in order of importance, beginning with the one that seems the most urgent to you. Create a positive suggestion regarding your first objective. To do so, use suggestions like: “I want to be rich””, “I want to experience love!”, “I want to achieve this dream or solve that problem (name them)”,…

This is when you precisely describe your objective in words.

Fourth stage: getting into a hypnotic stage with the self-hypnosis disk

Now, use the self-hypnosis disk as described below.

  • After practicing the second stage of body relaxation, stare at your self-hypnosis disk for one or two minutes.
  • Repeat your suggestion over and over, 10 times or for five minutes.

Conclusion: Time for you to do some hypnotizing!

To begin practicing hypnosis, we recommend that you repeat this beginner’s initiation until you master it perfectly. Then, while you’re at it, try to resolve a few problems and grant a few of your wishes. Once you have experienced a few successes this way, you’ll be able to practice hypnosis techniques with your volunteer. You’ll find lots of hypnosis techniques online that you’ll then be able to apply more easily if you follow our initiation to hypnosis. When you move onto the stage with a volunteer, it will be up to you to repeat all the suggestions to your partner, whether it’s in the body relaxation stage or in the stage for implanting suggestions in their mind.
